LAB Vancouver offers many in-school and after-school social activities and events to help you practice your English and make friends from around the world! The Friday activities are led by our teachers who will help you explore beautiful Vancouver.
The monthly social calendar shows you all the activities you can sign up for. A trip to Whistler, kayaking in Deep Cove, a visit to the Art Gallery or a walking tour through historic Chinatown? Any of these are available for you.
What to do after school!

Arts Scene
Check out salsa dance classes, acting lessons from acclaimed actors working in Vancouver's thriving film industry (there’s a reason they call it "Hollywood North"), painting classes, singing lessons, art workshops, a theatre performance or two, or a major concert.
Get Cultured
Culturally vibrant and diverse, Vancouver is home to many renowned cultural centres, including the Museum of Anthropology, Vancouver Art Gallery, Science World, Presentation House Gallery, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, the Contemporary Art Gallery and its own historical Chinatown.
Abundant Nature
You can almost smell the cedar when you hit the ground in this city surrounded by nature. Discover all of its abundances at destinations such as Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon hiking trails, Capilano Suspension Bridge, VanDusen Botanical Garden and Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
Get Sporty
The list of ways to move and unwind is lengthy, with options that include rollerblading around the seawall, ice skating at one of many rinks, curling, basketball at Kits Beach, tennis at one of the many courts throughout the city, golfing, world-class mountain biking, taking in an NHL hockey or international soccer game.
Scenic Tours
There are countless ways to explore and take in Vancouver's scenery, including tours that visit foodie-paradise Granville Island, world-renowned Whistler Village, tours of the University of British Columbia, Steveston Fisherman's Wharf, Winery Tours, Gastown, Harbour Tower Lookout and many more.
Outdoor Rec
Vancouver is home to eight ocean beaches, including Kits Beach (which even has a newly refurbished outdoor pool) or Second Beach in Stanley Park. Bike along the seawall, try 5 Pin bowling, Canadian-classic curling, go kayaking, swimming or paddle boarding, take one of many types of yoga classes in Vancouver.
Keep Learning
Vancouver has many educational opportunities to make the most of your time, including an architectural city tour to enhance your understanding of the cityscape. Visit the Vancouver Aquarium and the Maritime and History Museum to learn about the region's ocean and its vast inhabitants.
